Introduction

AdAware Installation:
You can download the latest version of AdAware from the official websites: http://www.lavasoftusa.com or www.lavasoft.de . Now let’s go through the installation procedure:

• Double click on the setup and click “Next”
• Tick the “I accept the license agreement” and click “Next” again
• Select a location where you want the application to be installed and click “Next”.
• Once again, click “Next”
• Again, “Next”
• Un-tick all the options and click “Finish”

How to use AdAware:

Although I’m pretty sure you know this, I still have to mention it; this is how you launch AdAware:

Click on: Start->Programs->Lavasoft Ad-Aware SE Personal->Ad-Aware SE Personal

When you launch AdAware, if the definitions are quite old, it will ask you if you want to check for updates:

• Click “OK” and if there are any updates available, download them.
• As soon as the downloading and the installation of the updates is finished, you should be looking at the main AdAware screen:

• Click on the “Start” button at the lower - right corner of the AdAware window.
• Select the type of scan that you desire and click “Next”
• AdAware will start scanning; the whole procedure might take anything ranging from a few minutes up to several hours!
• When scanning is complete, click “Next”
• AdAware will present you with a list of threats. Tick the threats that you want to eliminate:

• Click “Next”
• Click “OK” in the dialog which will require you to verify that you really want to delete those items.

 
That’s it! You have finished scanning and eliminating all the threats that AdAware has detected! You can set AdAware up so that it automatically scans your PC at given intervals or you can manually start the scanning process again after a few days.
